11th edition of the IPS Winter School
It has been great to work again with MA and PhD students and Early Career Researchers during the 11th edition of the IPS Winter School, held from 29 June to 10 July 2026 at PUC-Rio’s campus. The event was co-organised by PUC-Rio and Queen Mary University of London, with funding from the British Academy. Over two weeks, the programme offered a range of activities centred on the research agenda of International Political Sociology, including courses, workshops, roundtables, and tutoring sessions.
This year, we had the pleasure of hosting the following courses: Angharad Closs-Stephens (Swansea University) ‘Everyday Affects at the End of the World‘; Claudia Aradau (King’s College London) ‘Researching security practices: Scandals, controversies and struggles‘; Jef Huysmans (Queen Mary University of London) and João Nogueira (PUC-Rio) ‘Introduction to IPS – Concepts and Methods‘; Kyle Grayson (Newcastle University) ‘International Publishing and Crafting Articles and Papers‘; Lara Selis (Universidade Federal de Uberlândia) ‘Feminist Cartographies of the International‘; and Victor Lage (Universidade Federal da Bahia) ‘Rethinking the ‘international’ in the face of various forms of internationalism’.
