PhD Seminar Series

DoingIPS convenors have teamed up with PhD researchers to create a PhD seminar series on IPS, the first of its kind based in the UK. With funding from the LISS-DTP, PhD student organisers lead a monthly seminar in which PhD students present their work and invite external discussants. They also organise multiple fringe events connected to the series, including roundtable debates, workshops, and writing retreats. For details of the programmes of presenters and discussants, follow the links below.

Should you wish to be added to the Seminar Series mailing list please email the Seminar Series co-convenors at ips.phd.seminar@gmail.com.

PhD Seminar Series in International Political Sociology (2018/2019)

The series is made up of student-led monthly seminars jointly organised through Queen Mary University of London and King’s College London. It aims to introduce PhD students from various disciplines to the ongoing research on International Political Sociology (IPS). The series gives its participants the chance to present their work-in-progress to PhD colleagues and senior academics who work within the realm of IPS. In addition, it provides them with an overview of contemporary research in the field, as they attend over 20 presentations by participants from various disciplines and institutions. Last but not least, it allows participants to network with academics and students in their field of interest, opening doors for further intellectual discussions and research collaborations. The goal is to build interdisciplinary and cross-institutional links between PhD students and faculty.
