Members of DoingIPS delivered a course on Critical Security Studies in Colombia

Kate Hall, Jef Huysmans, and Georg Loefflemann from Queen Mary University of London and Hannah Owens from the University of Warwick taught an online internationalisation course on Critical Security Studies for students at the Universidad Externado de Colombia, Bogota, 17-20 March 2026. The course covered the following topics:

-       Introduction to critical security studies

-       Policing, militarisation, and public order

-       Populist security narratives and foreign policy: the case of America first

-       Exploring vernacular security studies: concepts, methods and critiques.
