DoingIPS Switzerland | Revival Announcement & Call for Participation

We are delighted to announce the revival of the Doing IPS Switzerland initiative and extend a formal invitation to participate. We are Franca Kappes (IHEID), Victoria Motta de Lamare França (IHEID), Carolina Miranda Futuro (UniGe), and Fabian Hofmann (ETH Zürich). The relaunch builds on the Doing IPS Switzerland network, which was first established by Klaus Dingwerth, Matthias Leese, and Lucile Maertens.

The purpose of the DoingIPS Switzerland initiative will be to complement the work of the IPS Working Group at the annual Swiss Political Science Association (SPSA) conference by fostering exchange between junior and senior Swiss-based IPS scholars and strengthening connections within the dynamic DoingIPS ecosystem in Europe and around the world.

To do so, we plan to host a number of activities, such as an annual transnational symposium to connect DoingIPS Switzerland with other hubs abroad, as well as biannual PhD workshops rotating across Swiss institutions. Further activities and events could include (online) writing retreats and the promotion of publications via our social media channels.

Doing IPS Switzerland now has an increased online presence, including an entry on the Doing IPS website, a Bluesky account, and a LinkedIn page. Connect with us through these channels to stay up-to-date with the network’s activities, and feel free to let us know about relevant calls for papers, events, or publications related to IPS Switzerland, so we can share them on our social media.

If you are interested in participating in this collective project and shaping the structure of the Doing IPS network in Switzerland, please register your interest using the following form. Also, please feel free to share this call for participation within your institution, as we are particularly interested in promoting the network among more junior scholars, especially PhD students.

We very much look forward to embarking on this journey with you! We welcome all input and feedback, so please let us know if you have any specific questions or ideas on how to move this initiative forward.

With warm wishes,

Franca, Victoria, Carol, and Fabian
